SOLO Quad

The all new BlackHawk LowBoy-II was designed and built by Mike Robinson who utilized his extensive experience in building custom Harleys. The new LowBoy-II features a new "raked" front end, "angled" rear outer stub axles, lower ground clearance 18cm (7"), lower hang point attachment, a racing bucket seat with a 4 point harness & weighs just 31kg (Tandem 35kg) adjustable billet aluminium hang points with brass bearings are optional.

With the featured standard Aviation 15cm features light weight polished aluminium rims and 32cm ribbed aircraft style 2 ply tires the Quad width is 157cm front and 170cm rear (widths can be customised by cutting the Fibreglass axles), length front to rear axle centre 150cm, with Fat beach tyres the Quad stance of 172cm front and 183cm rear, length front to rear axle centre 160cm, these measurements can be altered with the shortening or length of the axles.

Axles can be held in place via Quick pins for easy removal, although any slip joint in our quad frame can be Quick pined or Bolted permanently for trailer roll out applications.

SOLO QUAD Weights:

The engine cage chassis connection brackets that clamp to rear Quad Chaise & Roll Cage cross member of the LowBoy-II are made of aluminium and held in place with Hi-Tensile bolts with Allan key heads.

More details:

The rear & front has 2.5cm (1") thick incredibly strong fibreglass suspension axles, they slide into the lower frame compartment instantly, to make it only 1.65mt (4') wide for easy loading in the back of a pickup truck, or the complete LowBoy Quad disassembles quickly into cargo or suitcase for shipping.

Let’s talk Paint! The Frame is sandblasted and then powder coat primer is applied.  The final powder coat is completed in your choice of either Black Cherry Metallic with Clear Coat or Gunsmoke Silver Metallic with Clear Coat, Custom Colours on request !

Dismantled Sizes:

A Solo or Tandem Quad and all your equipment for Foot launch, even the XXLT cage can easily fitted into a Cargo Crate 1700mm x 800mm x 660mm high, many find that amazing !

We are currently designing a modular crate system to transform into two separate cargo crates 2/3 ratio that can be turned into a workstation, desk etc. the quad wheels will be able to be attached to the outside of the crate to enable your equipment to be easily moved around.

Seriously, you will NOT find a better looking more stable, lighter, better flying wheeled vehicle in Powered Paragliding!

Options:

The LowBoy-II Quad is by far the safest and easiest way to launch and fly a powered paraglider ever made. The LowBoy II Quad is may times safer then any other machine ever made as it will handle the worst and most uneven terrain and off centre paraglider's and still stay upright on its wheels.

It is incredibly strong as it is made with 4130 Chrome Moly steel construction, has fibreglass axles for amazing suspension with over a foot of wheel travel (will handle any terrain no matter how bad), has easy straight axle steering. High speed wheel bearings, comfortable racing seat with cover and 4 point harness.

Can be used for single or tandem passenger flight, low centre of gravity, super easy to launch and land. Extremely safe and fun to fly!

Entire frame can be disassembled in less then 5 minutes for compact travel. Optional wheeleze balloon tires & wheels available.

The LowBoy-II Quad will fit and can be used with all major brands of para engine cages on the market today, including: Fresh Breeze, Fly Products and of course the very best of all the BlackHawk MZ313 Paraengine.

TANDEM Quad

Can be used for single or tandem passenger flight, low centre of gravity, very comfortable racing seat and foot bar for passenger, super easy to launch and land. Extremely safe & fun to fly!

A Full Tandem LowBoy-II Quad frame, XXLT Rhino cage, MZ-313 Engine & Frame, Aluminium Wheels, Axles, 34m2 Glider in backpack, Two propellers and even a Foot launch Harness with "J" bars, fit into a Cargo Case 175cm wide x 80cm Depth x 66cm High, a Foot launch Kit will fit into a case just over half that size.

BlackHawk paraengine's come standard with the BlackHawk Travel Cage but can be upgraded to the Rhino or Rhino XXLT cage.

After only 3 attempts the Quickest dismantle of a full Tandem Quad with a 313cc engine, XXLT Cage only takes 13 minutes as follows;

* We used a Rattle screw gun/driver, it takes 4:20 to remove the Propeller manually, making a 17:10 dismantle time!

NB: Our Quad is fully Quick Pined inc. both seats, except for the 4 outer wheel stub axles and the front & rear Quad Chassis remain bolted/assembled, we simply lay the front & rear roll cage & cross bar down onto each other as they lay virtually flat for easy transport or for packing into a cargo crate.

Why a 4 wheeled Quad is far superior than a 3 wheeled Trike !

Solo Quad comes standard with the following;

• 4x Polished Aluminium Rims with 2ply tubeless Aviation style tyres.
• 4x angled chrome molly outer Stub-Axles for wheels. (rear with wings)
• 2x front roll cage bars.
• 2x rear roll cage bars.
• 2x top Double skinned hang point bars. (recommend the optional Billet hang points)
• 4x 2.5cm solid Fibreglass suspension Axles.
• 4x QuickPins. (for quick removal of tyres with axles for transport)
• 2x long Aluminium angle brackets to mount Pilot seat to Quad chassis
• Pilot seat with Clip-on cushioned cover.
• Four point racing seatbelt harness with fittings.
• 2x lower Aluminium Cage mounting brackets. (mounts Engine chassis to the lower Quad chassis)
• 2x upper Aluminium Cage mounting brackets. (mounts Engin chassis to the rear Quad roll cage cross member)
• Assembly Bolts, Nylon lock Nuts, Grommets, Washers to assemble the Quad.

Even though the front seat is designed to carry a passenger, many pilots simply use the seat to carry a Glider too & from a launch site, some even design & manufacture there own cargo box(s) to carry camping/fishing/prospecting gear etc..

To fly our quad all you need is fit an Engine into a Cage & Chassis & fit Hang points & a Glider !
